He reluctantly went along with the Inquisition and accepted the title of Inquisitor, since he hoped that he could use his new position to help his people and mages. He denied that he was Andraste’s chosen and hated the title of Herald of Andraste. He fully intended to leave and go back to his clan after the world was saved, which he ends up doing post-Trespasser.
Ralis is very proud of his dalish heritage, refusing to bow down to the Chantry or follow its teachings. He hates Templars, Seekers, and anything to do with the Chantry. He would see the Chantry burn to the ground if he could, and dreams of a world where Templars can no longer hunt his people's mages. He can have an abrasive personality, especially when he's faced with anti-elf sentiments or anyone bashing his religious beliefs, but once somebody gets to know and befriend him, he's a loyal and trustworthy fellow. He does make an effort to be civil, unless someone pushes any of his aforementioned buttons.
I reject certain parts of canon established in DA:I about the Dalish and ancient elves.
I can also play him as an Inquisition agent, party member to the Inquisitor, or just an elf with no connection to the Inquisition.
